Makeup Trend: Peach Lips for Everyone!

We generally believe that, mixed with the right amount of confidence, most makeup looks can work on anyone! Sure, some daring trends should be left only to the daring and trendy (Lady Gaga is really the only one who can pull off bright yellow eye shadow), but mostly you can easily adapt a trend to suit your skin and colouring. We've been meaning to try a peach lipstick because these stars make it look so nice and fresh. And stars, they're just like us, right? Behold our inspiration and some shopping options for you to try out yourself.

1. Sephora Collection Rouge Shine Lipstick #05 Shiney Moment / 2. Revlon ColorBurst in Peach Parfait / 3. Nars Sheer Lipstick in Barbarella / 4. Makeup Forever Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick in Satin Bright Orange

Morning After: The 56th Annual Grammy Awards

Our love for award shows was somewhat trumped last night for our new found love* for "Grown Sexi" themed weddings…we're talking about Sean and Catherine's televised Bachelor wedding! But we switched back to the Grammys during commercial breaks of course. Obviously, could not miss the best and sexiest part of the show:

Best Dressed Ladies: Ciara in Emilio Pucci and Taylor Swift in Gucci Primière.
Honourable Mention: Kelly Osborne in Badgley Mischka. She is really hitting her mark these days!

As Seen on SJP (but wait, we already saw it on Kiernan Shipka!)

Spring is almost here! Well, we're a bit premature...but one day, you will wake up and go outside and it will be warm and nice and dreamy. Not soon per se...but whatever, don't analyze our prose so carefully, jeeze.

Until it gets warm up in here, bring the heat yourself by sporting bright and cheerful florals! We love the look with solid paneling and we are seeing it a lot. Sarah Jessica Parker looks great in her spread for the February issue of InStyle, almost as cute as Kiernan looked back in September 2013. These ladies are onto something.

Kardashian Kastastrophe

And I don’t just mean Bruce Jenner's ponytail! Disturbing, yes. But the least of the family's worries since Season 9 started off in the middle of two whirlwind marriage separations. Though we've come to terms with the simultaneous end of Khloe/Lamar & Kris/Bruce, the emotions were still raw during last night's premiere. Blank stares and the inability to remove one's sunglasses truly do speak volumes! Thankfully, however, not everyone is in shambles. So we should really be focusing on the positive aspects of Kardashian life.

Kendall: Now that she is pulling her own weight (i.e. dating Harry Styles!) they’ve given her some powerful lines this season. Hold onto your emotions as Kendall speaks up during a family meeting regarding the separation; also she doesn’t seem to understand biology and thinks she no longer has siblings. Moving stuff.

Kim: During the episode Kim finally admitted to being nervous about motherhood. But, not to worry, she loves it now that her baby is trending on Twitter.

Rob: The self-proclaimed patriarch (possibly fueling those Bruce sex-change rumours?) moved out and furnished his pad with Cîroc from Puffy! Also, there is a medical reason for the recent weight gain, let's all join Brandon Jenner in a look of shock followed by sigh of relief.

Kourtney: I shamefully missed that Instagram of her joyously stomping grapes Lucy style, so thank goodness I watched the episode.

Let's all look forward to a new season. Do not fret, even without the boys it looks drama filled!

Dashingly yours,

Lauren

Morning After: The 2014 SAG Awards

Up here in the Great North, the SAG Awards will broadcast on Sunday instead of Saturday night. This is the only time in our lives we've sympathized with angry sports fans who've learned the outcome and top plays of the big game before actually watching it (it does in fact sting). What we can do to ease the pain is talk about the happenings from the evenings red carpet.

Best Dressed Ladies: Once again, Lupita Nyong'o in Gucci and Hannah Simone in Marchesa.

Worst Dressed Ladies: Kerry Washington in Prada and Julie Bowen in Carolina Herrera.

Looking at GIRL in Magazines: Dashing Dunham Edition

Did y'all watch the first two episodes of Girls yet? We reckon season 3 is off to an acceptable start! We died for the Phillippe debate. And now we're equally dying for this morning's Lena 'Cover Girl' Dunham news.

Photographed by Annie Leibovitz, Lena Dunham's long rumoured Vogue cover has finally materialized, and fret not, we are here to critique. Alas, we have mostly good things to say about this. The cover is predictable, but the spreads are quite nice and we love that they included her pup (we know it's her dog because we follow her on Instagram)! Overall she looks nice, ladylike and not overly glamorized. We are definitely plagued with wonder over how that pigeon shot was achieved, because ick. Costar Adam has become quite the Vogue intermediate!

Thank you Vogue! We love Lena.

Tuesday Links: Golden Globe Wrap Up Edition

The Golden Globes are officially over and thanks so much for caring about what we had to say yesterday! Now it's time to care about what other awesome people had to say (or what we forgot to mention). We're particularly obsessed with the above picture of the Michael Fassbender and Benedict Cumberbatch dance off! Happy surfing.

1. Best of the Celebrity Instas! You'd also be Instagramming your little hearts out if you'd been there, #nofilter needed!

2. Mandatory RC Uniforms!? Pretty sure we'd still be asking who wore it best.

3. Tina and Amy's Opening Monologue. 'Cause why not watch them kill it over and over again??

4. Great recap courtesy of GQ. We'll be tucking some of these memes away for later.

5. So, Jared Leto's trendsetting look is the equivalent of how my hair looks like when I'm letting it air dry. Go figure.

6. The photobomb heard around the world. Or the single most important photo from the red carpet. According to Ryan Seacrest anyway.

7. Bradley and Leo. Are you obsessed with this friendship yet, inappropriately aged supermodel girlfriends aside.

8. Party Timeline. Because celebrities are just like us, they get drunk and dance to Blurred Lines.

9. Backstage Polaroids! Adorable.

Morning After: The 71st Annual Golden Globes

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Award season is back in full swing and we were giddy with excitement for the 71st Annual Golden Globes. Our evening was spent equal parts cringing and celebrating and that’s just the way we like it. It seemed like a big win for SNL Alum, although by the looks on Lorne Michaels' face you wouldn’t have thought so; we surely can’t imagine him continuing to scowl at Amy and Tina’s perfect Clooney and DiCaprio zingers or during Andy Samberg’s adorable acceptance speech (sidebar: how precious was the Seth Meyers enthusiasm for him?)!

We also can’t imagine being alone in what we loved about last night’s event: Jared Leto’s bun, budding romance between Amy Poehler and Bono, being proud of Leo but then, as any good girlfriend should be, equally shamed by his mispronunciation, as well as Emma Thompson and Julia Louis Dreyfus' overall amazingness, to name only a few. So we have, as we were born to do, compiled a comprehensive list of our best and worst of the night.

Best Dressed Ladies: The stunning Lupita Nyong'o in Ralph Lauren and that siren Helen Mirren in Jenny Packham.

Best Dressed Men (this really just means SEXIEST MEN to us hetero gals): Idris Elba and Chris Pine. Swoon.

Worst dressed Ladies: Jennifer Lawrence in Dior and, hate to say it, Sandy Bullock in Prabal Gurung.

Winner for lowest cut neckline: Not surprising Amy Adams, could've done without that necklace, but she does look bangin'.

Let's close our eyes and imagine Lena Dunham wore something more in this colour range:

See more after the jump!

Looking at Stars in Magazines: Racial Edition (not)

Magazines are fun when all you want to do is stay home and not freeze to death! Even though it's kinda pointless to buy magazines until the March issues surface, the February 2014 issues of Elle and W look nice and both have multiple covers. We actually hate when magazines do this. We have a frightening memory featuring us generally representing all over town (embarrassingly) looking for the April 2012 Drake cover of GQ, but I digress.

Here on Elle US we have Mindy Kaling looking glamourous as hell! We recognize there is a ton of shit being said about the fact that her's is the only cover that is in black and white and a close-up, whereas the other WHITE ladies' photos are almost full body and in COLOUR. We agree that there is something amiss afoot. But we are not very political and we honestly didn't even know there were other covers when we saw the Mindy cover for the first time (on her Instagram!). We'll just wait and see what she has to say about it! Girl has opinions!

These starlets look good too...

We are somewhat less pleased with these W covers. We aren't dying for the Polaroid look (yes, we know this is distinctive Juergen Teller, and we still love and admire the Marc by Marc Jacobs ads seen in our Teen Vogue days, but not for a glossy cover). Anyway, we are happy to see they featured 2 women of colour. Lupita Nyong'o and Matthew McConaughey look particularly darling. Amy Adams looks a trifle unbalanced...see more after the jump.
